International teachers of Encounter-centered Couples Therapy to host their new three-day couples workshop at the Hilton Garden Inn Georgetown. This will be the first time they present a couples workshop in Washington, DC.
WASHINGTON, District of Columbia (August 8, 2018) – Hedy and Yumi Schleifer (http://www.hedyyumi.com), international relationship builders and trainers, have announced that they will host the premier of “A Couple’s Journey” at the Hilton Garden Inn Georgetown, located at 2201 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20037, from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21, 2018. The three-day couple’s retreat teaches couples effective communication skills, and concrete, user-friendly, step-by-step rituals and skills for a flourishing connection. Registration is now open for the workshop.
“We attended Hedy and Yumi’s workshop in January 2018 as a couple who has been together more than 30 years. Our relationship was strong going into it but found it was even closer and more intimate after spending a few days with Hedy and Yumi. Their workshop is certainly an instrument to bring peace to individuals, couples and the world!”
“A Couple’s Journey” introduces couples to Hedy and Yumi’s conceptualization of the “Three Invisible Connectors”: the Space, the Bridge, and the Encounter – the relational fabric that connects all systems. Hedy and Yumi teach couples to be consciously present with each other. Through witnessing the power of the safe space that Hedy and Yumi create, couples learn to listen and communicate with their partners at a much higher level.
“The workshop we present to couples is a three-day intensive retreat. For three days, couples immerse themselves in learning one very powerful guiding principle and many rituals to apply to that principle,” Hedy explains. “By the time they leave the workshop, three days later, they really are in a completely new place as people and as a couple. It’s a transformational experience because it’s a deep immersion in learning a new way of being together.”
With 53 years of marriage and over 50 years of combined experience teaching relational skills and technologies, Hedy and Yumi’s approach is a synergetic integration of the philosophy of Martin Buber, Appreciative Inquiry and Re-evaluation Counseling, the latest research about Relational Neurobiology, adaptations of processes from Imago Relationship Therapy, and their marriage and Judaic background.
Hedy and Yumi travel the world, giving powerful and captivating relationship building workshops that inspire and empower people to embrace their life, work and relationships with joy and passion. They have helped thousands of couples in over twenty countries transform their relationships from ordinary to extraordinary and work toward more peaceful means of conflict resolution.
The upcoming “A Couple’s Journey” workshop is $995 per couple; couples may register with a $200 deposit. Previous graduates of the ‘Adventure In Intimacy’ workshop may attend for $895 per couple.
On April 26, 2010, Hedy presented an influential TED talk at TEDxTelAviv called “The Power of Connection.” Hedy and Yumi have made two appearances on The Balancing Act morning show, Ivanhoe News, and Singapore Morning Show. They have been interviewed by South African radio stations Smile and IONO.FM, and have had recent articles written about them in the South African Jewish Report, Coachletter (the Israeli coaching magazine), Sophie Magazine, and Moment Magazine.
