“I am terrible at presenting.
I lose any thought.
I go into a white haze of panic,”
says Juliette, who inquires about my “Presenting with Boldness” Training.
“You are not alone,” I say to Juliette. Listen as I talk about “Fear is Excitement without breath,” in preparation for my upcoming “Presenting with Boldness” Training on April 6-7, 2019 in Sedona, AZ.
Statistics show that many Americans suffer the fear of public speaking: 75% of women do, and 73% of men do. However, in a study done at Harvard University, subjects were asked: “Are you anxious?” or “Are you calm?” before giving a two minute presentation. Interestingly, those who said: “I am anxious!” were much more persuasive to their audience than those who said: “I am calm!”
The Harvard study inspires us to make our nervous energy work for us. Being nervous is a form of adrenalin. The Harvard study encourages us to transform our nervous energy in order to give an impassioned presentation.
“I would love to work through this fear of public speaking, but I wonder whether the workshop is too challenging for someone like me?” asks Juliette.
I have good news for you: Yes, the Presenting with Boldness Training is for you, because it will teach you to transform your fear into passionate excitement, which is basic for being a persuasive presenter.
If you would like to transform your fear of public speaking into passionate excitement, and become a persuasive presenter, I am inviting you to join me for the “Presenting with Boldness” Training on April 6-7, 2019, in Sedona, Arizona.
P.S. – There will be a screening and Q+A of the award-winning documentary “Hedy & Yumi: Crossing the Bridge” in Sedona, AZ, on April 3, 2019, at 7pm. Save the date!
